Spain: New Adventure Park Announced for Valencia

Rain Forest Valencia S.A., operating company of Valencia’s BIOPARC zoo, is planning to build an outdoor adventure park on a leased parcel of land adjacent to the animal park, in order to extend the existing experiences offered by the zoo. The new park will feature sports activities such as canyoning, climbing and freefall jumps as well as water areas with attractions for the whole family. While the BIOPARC, which opened in 2008, is dedicated to the fauna of Africa, the theming of the adventure park will be inspired by the landscapes and architecture of Southeast Asia, more precisely the country of Cambodia with its rain forests and ancient temples.

The investment sum for the project, construction works of which are scheduled to start in early 2020, is estimated at around 25 million Euros – public funds are not to be used for the financing. The opening of the new adventure park is foreseen for spring 2022. (eap)
