Spain: Parques Reunidos and FC Barcelona Announce Development of Five FCB-themed Indoor Entertainment Centers
In order to further extend its worldwide business with family entertainment centers, which already feature popular IP brands from Lionsgate, Nickelodeon and others (cf. EAP news from February 2nd, 2018 & March 10th, 2016), Spain’s Parques Reunidos operating group has recently agreed with Futbol Club Barcelona (FCB/“Barça”) on the development of five FCB-themed indoor entertainment centers. The new visitor attractions are scheduled to open at different locations in Europe, Asia and the US during the next five years, either as part of a shopping mall or a landmark building. On an average surface of some 5,000 square meters, the offer for visitors will comprise physical education and interactive activities for the whole family, featuring the football club’s history, values, players and historical moments.
“This partnership with Futbol Club Barcelona represents an important milestone within Parques Reunidos’ growth strategy. Our company is constantly seeking opportunities to expand and offer unforgettable experiences for the entire family. Through these new centers Parques Reunidos will be the first company to offer an innovative and thrilling entertainment and sports experience for all football lovers in Asia, the United States, and Europe in partnership with one of the best football teams in the world,” said Fernando Eiroa, CEO of Parques Reunidos.
Manel Arroyo, Vice President of Marketing & Communications at FC Barcelona, added, “The agreement with Parques Reunidos will help us cast our brand in strategic territories such as the United States or several Asian countries, thus offering our fans a hundred percent Barça experience while we establish a new source of income […],” commented Arroyo.
