Sweden: Parks and Resorts Scandinavia Names New Vice President: Joanna Hammar
The current marketing director of the Parks and Resorts Scandinavia operating group, Joanna Hammar, will take over the position of vice president of the group as of 1 April. In her new role, Hammar will be responsible for the commercial development of the theme park group. All four facilities belonging to the group – Gröna Lund, Furuvik, Kolmården and Skara Sommarland – are planned to be converted to year-round operations in the future. In this context, Joanna Hammar will also lead the company’s business development group to drive the revenue and business development.
Hammar started her career at Parks and Resorts Scandinavia in 2015, when she took over as marketing director at Gröna Lund in Stockholm. Since 2018, she has been responsible for marketing for all of the group’s theme parks, with a focus on developing park communications and B2C sales. With the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, Joanna Hammar was instrumental in establishing business development groups in all parks belonging to the group in order to be able to react quickly to the impact of the pandemic and to further develop the business models of all locations adapted to the new situation. As the new vice president of the theme park group, Hammar will assume overall responsibility for the group’s marketing and sales, as well as lead the group-wide coordination of the theme seasons at the parks.
“Joanna is a very competent business developer with a great personal commitment to our parks. I’m happy and proud to have her on our team,” says Christer Fogelmarck, CEO of Parks and Resorts Scandinavia. In 2019, the group of companies generated sales of 1.4 billion SEK (134 million EUR). (eap)
