Switzerland: “Matti Family Paradise” in the Andermatt Ski Area Adds New Mountain Playground to Summer Offer
In the course of a tourism strategy for the Swiss ski resort Andermatt to attract tourists also in the summer “off-season”, the Familienparadies Matti (Matti Family Paradise) located in the mountains was recently extended by a new adventure playground according to the motto of the underlying overall concept “At the Pulse of the Swiss Alps”. With play equipment designed, for example, as a hiking boot or a milk churn, a via ferrata and a climbing wall, the new outdoor play landscape delights young guests, who can playfully test their “mountain fitness” against the imposing backdrop of the Swiss Alps.
Skiarena Andermatt commissioned the Austrian company Input Projektentwicklungs GmbH (a wholly owned subsidiary of Doppelmayr Seilbahnen AG, specialized in project development) with the concept-, design- and detailed planning as well as project coordination for both the realignment in and around Andermatt and the playground sub-project. The playground was handcrafted by the carpentry firm Daniel Mauracher from Zillertal. (eap)
