Switzerland: Longest Treetop Path in The World Opens

The “Senda dil Dragum“, the world‘s longest treetop path, opened in Switzerland, connecting the two villages of Laax Murschetg and Laax Dorf (in the canton of Grünbünden). The 1.56 kilometre-long footbridge, which is between two and 28 metres high, is designed to offer a unique nature experience with five adventure stations.
The path has two barrier-free access towers. At one of the towers and on four other platforms, visitors are able to learn about the landscape, flora and fauna of the region. The nature experience uses tablets to convey information and offers children and adults separately prepared content that is implemented through augmented reality (AR). This technical offer will be available to visitors from autumn. In addition to the information stations, the treetop path offers a slide in the Murschetg tower, which was supplied by Wiegand.
“With the treetop path, we are creating sustainable added value not only for our guests, but also for the locals and the entire region,“ comments Reto Gurtner, president of the Weisse Arena Gruppe, which operates the treetop path. The municipality of Laax invested a total of 7.5 million Swiss francs (approx. 6.9 million euros) in the construction of the nature-oriented visitor offer. (eap)
