Switzerland: Säntispark Celebrates Its 30th Anniversary

The shopping and leisure destination Säntispark, which is located in the Swiss city of Abtwil, celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, together with its customers and guests, offering a special entertainment program starting today until this Saturday.
Opened in 1986, Säntispark represented an innovative concept with the combination of a shopping and leisure destination that was new to Switzerland at that time. Nevertheless, the Migros St. Gallen corporative society invested around 100 million Swiss franc (approx. 91.9 million Euro) in its construction and expansion until today. The shopping mall and parts of the bathing facility already underwent a complete renovation between the years of 2005 and 2009. The Säntispark hotel reopened two years ago after its modernization and extension.
Furthermore, eight new large water slides will be added to the leisure facilities, which already include a bathing and sauna complex, a wellness area and sports and fitness offers (cf. EAP issue 6/2015 & EAP news from June 25th, 2015). “With the new slides we will create a completely new experience within Switzerland,” commented Catherine Zimpfer, who manages the leisure department of Säntispark.
