Texas: Kalahari Resorts and Conventions Breaks Ground on Round Rock
This past Tuesday (May 15th) saw the official groundbreaking ceremony of the new Kalahari waterpark resort in Round Rock/Texas, which will be the fourth destination of the family-owned Kalahari Resorts & Conventions operating group in the US and the first in the Southwest of the country (cf. EAP news from June 20th, 2016).
Scheduled to open in 2020, the Round Rock property will include nearly 1,000 guest rooms, an indoor waterpark (which with over 20,000 square meters will be the country’s largest indoor waterpark, according to the group), outdoor waterpark experiences, an extensive convention center, a FEC (Tom Foolery’s Adventure Park), a full-service spa as well as dining facilities and shops.
“[…] As the Round Rock property begins construction, we look forward to contributing to the local economy and sharing our beyond-expectations approach to hospitality with area vacation goers, conference attendees and local guests throughout the region,” said Todd Nelson, Owner, Kalahari Resorts & Conventions.
Besides the new Kalahari Resort now under construction in Round Rock, other destinations of the waterpark chain already in operation are located in Pocono Mountains/Pennsylvania, Sandusky/Ohio and Wisconsin Dells/Wisconsin. All three locations have recently been upgraded with the addition of new slides and attractions (cf. EAP, 5/17). (eap)
