The Walt Disney Company Elected Board of Directors

In March, shareholders of The Walt Disney Company gathered for their annual meeting 2012. The participants elected ten members of their board of directors, while all members were reelected to the board: Susan Arnold, John S. Chen, Judith L. Estrin, Robert A. Iger, Robert W. Matschullat, Fred H. Langhammer, Sheryl Sandberg, Aylwin B. Lewis, Orin C. Smith and Monica C. Lozano. Robert A. Iger was formally elected Chairman in addition to his current role as Chief Executive Officer. This was done to secure Iger’s leadership through his expected retirement in 2016. Orin C. Smith (69), former President and CEO of Starbucks Corp., was also unanimously elected as the new independent lead director. Smith joined the board in 2006 and has served as chairman of the audit committee. (eap)
