Theme Park Planned to Be Built in London
It is said to become the biggest project after the construction of the Olympic Park in London and rival Disneyland Resort Paris. According to British media reports the site’s developer, London Resort Company Holdings (LRCH), has been granted a license from Paramount Pictures to use its name for the new, more than 350 hectare large theme park resort to be built east of London. The two billion GPB (around 2.5 billion EUR) resort will include theatres, cinemas, restaurants, hotels and a theme park – plans even include an indoor waterpark. Tony Sefton, project leader of LRCH, is happy about the consent and support of the neighbouring boroughs of Dartford and Gravesham. He said that over the next 12 to 18 months plans would be developed further and concretized so that the interest of further investors could be aroused. The new project, which is scheduled to open in 2018, could create 27,000 new jobs. (eap)
