Thermal Bathing Facilities in Germany Ready to Reopen

All over Germany, thermal bathing facilities and indoor pools will reopen again for visitors after around three months of forced closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Lübbenau/Brandenburg-based Spreewelten Bad already opened its doors for visitors on June 13th. The indoor water world, which is well-known for its “swimming with penguins“, reduced its maximum visitor capacity by one third. There is no online reservation required; on arrival, visitors see on a electronic display if there is free capacityin the entrance area (only 650 guests are allowed). Additionally, the sauna, outdoor and F&B areas are open as well.
Since the beginning of this week, Stork Group-operated Westfalen-Therme in Bad Lippspringe (Westphalian-region), has been welcoming guests back, too. Europabad Karlsruhe will open its sauna and spa area as of Friday June 19th, but an official opening date for the bath‘s indoor water world has not been announced yet.
As of June 22nd, Thermen & Badewelt Sinsheim will welcome back guests to its pools. To prevent a rush of visitors and long waiting lines, the bathing facility requires the use of the new online reservation system. Visitors can decide to book a “day“ (8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) or “night“ (5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. / on Saturdays 12:00 p.m.) ticket, which includes a check-in time slot for the arrival. During the one-hour-break after the “day“ slot, the facility will be cleaned and disinfected every operation day. Additionally, guests will be assigned their personal recliner for their stay. Furthermore, visitors will be able to also experience the sauna and the “Paradise Beach“ outdoor beach area again.
Only three days later on June 25th, Therme Erding, the world‘s largest indoor thermal bathing facility, will reopen to guests again, offering its variety of experiences such as the “Galaxy Slide World“.
At all thermal baths, guets are requested to wear a face mask in the entrance, locker room and F&B areas as well as observe the current distance and hygiene protective measures. (eap)
