On June 30, Sam Son Water Park celebrated its official opening in the town of the same name, Sầm Sơn, which is located around 15 kilometers from the region’s capital of Thanh Hoa City. There are more than 30 attractions in eight different areas, promising splashing leisure fun for both families with children and thrill-seekers. The heart of the water park is an over 5,400 square meter wave pool, called “Bay of the God Wave”, complemented by an almost 500-metre-long Lazy River as well as numerous water slides supplied by Canadian manufacturer ProSlide. According to park operator Sun World, many of the attractions set various new records in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
These regional “record attractions” include “Twister Zone”, the first installation of the Switchback TornadoWAVE type, as well as the highest versions of a Double TornadoWAVE 60 and a BehemothBOWL 60 slide, named “Surfing Stingray” and “Jaw’s Cave” respectively. Younger visitors can enjoy APAC’s first KIDZ Adventure Tower (“Monster Conquest”) as well as the first Kidz TornadoWAVE in the “Pier of Youth” play area. Furthermore, the world’s first PowerRIVER Generation 2 is celebrating its premiere in Sam Son. In addition to the many action-packed attractions, the park also features various gastronomic options and dedicated relaxation areas.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with visionaries like Sun Group to strategically develop world-class water park experiences in Vietnam. This partnership underscores ProSlide’s commitment to innovation and reflects our mutual dedication to creating unforgettable memories for guests. We look forward to witnessing the success of Sam Son Water Park and are excited about the future phases of the development,” commented Steve Avery, VP Business Development – APAC at ProSlide.
The water park operated by Sun World is part of the larger Sun World Sam Son leisure complex still under development, which will also comprise a theme park in the future. In total, the destination will cover an area of around 33 hectares and represent an investment volume of over 1,500 billion VND (approx. 54 million EUR). ■
