Turkey: Merlin Entertainments Opens 21st Madame Tussauds in Istanbul

Recently, Merlin Entertainments opened its 21st Madame Tussauds wax figure museum in the Turkish city of Istanbul, which complements the existing Merlin midway attractions LEGOLAND® Discovery Center and SEA LIFE. Visitors to Madame Tussauds can see more than 55 wax figures – replications of well-known Turkish and international personalities.
John Jakobsen, Chief New Openings Officer at Merlin Entertainments, commented: “We’re pleased to be able to bring the much-loved Madame Tussauds brand to Istanbul – an amazing, vibrant, cosmopolitan hub, well known as the original gateway city. This is consistent with our strategy of establishing attraction clusters in key cities around the world and contributes to our stated ambition of opening forty new Midway attractions before the end of 2020,” he said. This past September, Merlin opened another Madame Tussauds in Chongqing/China. (eap)
