UAE: DCT Abu Dhabi Named Detlef Haner Regional Promotion Europe & Americas Section Manager

The Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has recently named German tourism professional Detlef Haner (photo) new Regional Promotion Europe & Americas Section Manager. With this newly created position, DCT Abu Dhabi seeks to further developping the increasing tourism flow out of these markets. Haner, who has more than 20 years of experience in the field of destination marketing, has been working as General Manager at AVIAREPS Tourism GmbH in Munich before joining DCT Abu Dhabi in 2006 as Marketing Manager. Since 2010, he has been holding the role as Country Manager for Germany, Switzerland, Austria and The Netherlands. Besides his new duties, he will continue to lead operations in these key markets.

The emirate of Abu Dhabi possesses of a rich historical and cultural heritage, which tourists are eager to discover. Also, it is home to a steadily increasing number of leisure facilities, many of which are located on Yas Island. Popular destinations include Ferrari World Abu Dhabi (cf. our report in EAP, 1/11) and Yas Waterworld (cf. EAP, 2/13). This year, Abu Dhabi will see the opening of the new Warner Bros. World^TM Abu Dhabi indoor theme park (cf. EAP News from March 5^th, 2018 & April 21^st, 2016) and the CLYMB Activity Center, featuring a skydiving tunnel and a climbing hall (cf.
