UAE: New Nature Experience Park Opened on Abu Dhabi’s Jubail Island
Jubail Island in Abu Dhabi is located halfway between Yas Island and Saadiyat and is known for its mangrove forests. Recently, the Jubail Mangrove Park was opened here as a new nature experience park, allowing visitors to discover the flora and fauna of the mangroves by taking a walk along three wooden path circuits, ranging from one to over two kilometers length. Tens of thousands of birds, fish and crabs can be observed here in their natural environment.
Six learning stations are located along the walkways, including a floating platform, which provide information about the surrounding ecosystem. A visitor center is also part of the nature park, presenting interesting facts about mangroves. In addition to a relaxing walk along the water, guests can undertake activities such as kayak tours or take a break in a café.
The Jubail Mangrove Park aims at raising the awareness, appreciation and understanding of the important ecological function of mangrove habitats, which includes the protection of Abu Dhabi’s coast and the promotion of biodiversity. Entry to the park is free of charge. (eap)
