UAE: Storm Coaster Indoor Rollercoaster Draws Visitors to Newly Opened Dubai Hills Mall

Last week saw the opening of Dubai Hills Mall, a new premium shopping center by Emaar in the Arabian desert city, offering a variety of retail, dining and entertainment options. This also includes the mall’s own indoor theme park, the Adventure Park by Emaar, whose offerings are predominantly geared to sporting activities for children and young people from the age of three. Whether it’s bouncing on a trampoline in the “Jump Park”, training coordination and balance in the “Ninja Park”, or sliding on the “Slide’n’Fly” playground, there’s something for everyone.

However, the highlight of the shopping mall in terms of entertainment is likely to be the “Storm Coaster” – according to Internet research an LSM roller coaster from Intamin, which has not yet been confirmed by the operator. Guests are introduced to the upcoming experience in a preshow, after which a total of twelve passengers per train (three trains in total) take their seats and the action-packed, 2.5-minute ride begins. A compact layout that fills the high building in which it is located, especially towards the top, including a vertical launch, a drop and inversions, provide the adrenaline rush for passengers. Riders must be at least 1.3 metre tall. The roller coaster and the activity park are part of the Emaar Entertainment portfolio.

The Dubai Hills Mall has been implemented as part of the exclusive luxury real estate and lifestyle project “Dubai Hills Estate”, which is located between the two main roads Al Khail Road and Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and was realized as part of the first phase of the large-scale urban development project “Mohammed Bin Rashid City”. Learn more about other new theme park attractions and the Expo 2020, currently taking place in Dubai, in our upcoming March/April issue, which will be published on 1st March 2022. (eap)
