UAE/Dubai: 20th Century Fox Theme Park to Open in 2018
Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products is teaming up with Al Ahli Holding Group (AAHG), a multi-diversified international conglomerate headquartered in the United Arab Emirates, to build a Fox-branded theme park and resort in Dubai. Scheduled to open in 2018, 20th Century Fox World, Dubai will encompass several themed lands featuring attractions and rides based on Fox properties (e.g. Ice Age, Rio, Aliens, Titanic) as well as retail outlets. In addition to the theme park, the world’s first Fox-themed resort will also be part of the complex. The deal between AAHG and Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products allows for a roll-out of up to three additional Fox-branded resorts outside Dubai. 20th Century Fox World, Dubai will be the second Fox-branded theme park. The first park, 20th Century Fox World, Malaysia, is currently under construction. The initial opening date, which was scheduled for 2016 (cf. EAP News from March 21, 2014), has recently been postponed to late 2017. (eap)
