UK: Alpamare Scarborough Welcomes First Visitors
Great Britain’s first Alpamare water park recently opened in Northern England’s holiday location Scarborough, offering henceforth water fun and relaxation 365 days a year (cf. EAP news from June 12th, 2014). The alpine-themed leisure bathing complex, which has an investment volume of 15 million British pounds (approx. 17.7 million Euros), combines a thrilling waterpark and a luxury spa on a total area of 4.8 hectares.
Bathing guests can enjoy inside and outside facilities – with the indoor area featuring a 480 square meter wave pool and a vibrant “AquaPlayTM” area for children, supplied by the Canadian company WhiteWater. The outdoor area offers two 35 degree hot pools – one equipped with bubble recliners and whirlpools, the other one filled with iodine water to enhance health and well-being.
Of course, the sliding fun should not be neglected in the new Alpamare, where adrenalin fans can experience four different slide types. This includes the eleven meter long “Black Hole” slide, promising a rapid race and “Cresta Run”, which is ideal for mat racing. On the “Olympic Run” bathing guests can enjoy a 116.2 meter long track on double floats. The highlight is “Snow Storm”, on which four-person “boats” drop of 14.2 meters to top up the thrill.
The wellness & spa offer for those looking for relaxation will include a Hamam (Turkish spa) and a classical Alpine spa, both scheduled to open in January 2017. (eap)
