UK: Doctor Who: Time Fracture – New Immersive Show Experience in London
About ten years ago, a new exhibition event on the British cult series “Doctor Who” celebrated its premiere in London (cf. EAP news of 2 Apr 2011). From 2012 to 2017, the “Doctor Who Experience” was on display as a permanent installation in Cardiff (Wales), before the attraction consisting of a walkthrough experience and an interactive exhibition was closed. Now, friends and fans of the popular science fiction TV series can look forward to a new live entertainment offering based around Dr. Who, which can be found in London.
Under the title of “Doctor Who: Time Fracture”, an immersive show experience has been developed that is designed to immerse guests directly in the Dr. Who universe. The experience was produced by Immersive Everywhere in collaboration with BBC Studios. With 43 live actors and 17 different worlds to explore, visitors embark on an epic journey through space and time to save the universe, according to the storyline. For the technical implementation of the experience, the sound specialists of the London-based company Autograph were brought on board, among others. Loudspeaker systems from Martin Audio, KV2 and Meyer Sound as well as amplifier solutions from Powersoft are used.
Currently it is uncertain when visitors will be able to experience the new live entertainment offer again – due to heavy rainfall in July, which also caused flooding in the English capital, large parts of the production suffered significant damage, which now needs to be repaired.
