UK: Go Ape Swings into Chessington World of Adventures Resort
As the first Go Ape Adventure attraction in a UK theme park and the 30th like this in the UK, the opening of the new climbing centre at the zoo and theme park Chessington World of Adventures Resort is shortly to be celebrated in summer 2016. Tim Harrison Jones, Divisional Director at Chessington World of Adventures Resort, commented, “We are delighted to announce that Go Ape – the UK’s No. 1 Forest Adventure – will be swinging into Chessington World of Adventures Resort in Summer 2016. As Britain’s Wildest Adventure, the partnership with Go Ape brings two adventurous brands together and ensures families can enjoy going wild in new ways when visiting us.” With two exciting courses – the “Tree Top Adventure” for adults and the “Tree Top Junior” course for younger guests – visitors can swing like Tarzan through the woodland. During the course, rope ladders and a variety of obstacles and crossings wait for the adventurers to be left behind. Meanwhile the adults in the “Tree Top Adventure” – which is expected not to open earlier than July – can enjoy two to three hours in the trees, The “Tree Top Junior” course promises one hour of fun crossing from tree-to-tree and ending with a zip line finale. The latter one should already open on May 28th. Additionally, the “Tree Top Adventure” at Chessington will play host to the one-of-a-kind “Go Ape four man zip wire”. The whole family can feel the wind on their faces as they soar through the trees side by side. Further, educational workshops – e.g. for school groups - will be offered by the Woodland Discovery Centre, an information centre related to “climbing in the woodland”. (eap)
