USA: “The Flyer – San Francisco“ Flying Theater Celebrates Grand Opening Today
Today sees the opening of the new “The Flyer – San Francisco” flying theater attraction at Pier 39 in San Francisco, CA. Visitors can experience a virtual, six-minute 3D flight over the city and its surrounding areas (cf. EAP News f. March 12th, 2018). The film shows iconic landmarks, including Golden Gate Bridge and the city’s Coit Tower. Spectators glide through Lombardstreet and China Town as well as through the lush forests of nearby Redwood National Park.
The new attraction is the first installation of Triotech’s “The Flyer” concept, featuring motion-based seats instead of a motion base (cf. EAP 1/2017). A mix of real film footage and CI images as well as a range of special effects integrated in the seats create an extraordinary flight experience for visitors. (eap)
