USA: Busch Gardens Tampa Honored with 2016 Applause Award
During the IAAPA Expo in Orlando this past November, Tampa’s Busch Gardens theme park (operated by SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment) was honored with the “Applause Award”, which is presented every two years to a park, whose management, operations and creative accomplishments have inspired the international amusement industry.
“With a unique mix of world-class attractions, outstanding animal exhibits and strong seasonal events, Busch Gardens Tampa is not just one of the leading destination parks in North America, but also a favorite amongst Florida residents. Busch Gardens Tampa has through continuous re-investments, attention to guest value and a focus on employees as the primary source for long-term success, established itself as one of the beacons of the global attractions industry,” emphasized Andreas Veilstrup Andersen, President & CEO of Liseberg Group and Chairman of The Applause Award Board of Governors. The award lines up the park with European destinations such as Puy du Fou (Applause Award 2014), Efteling (1992) and Germany-based Europa-Park (1990).
Earlier this year, the park opened ist new „Cobra’s Curse“ spinning coaster manufactured by Mack Rides. Furthermore, as part of the 2016 “Christmas CelebrationTM” events at SeaWorld parks, Busch Gardens Tampa stages the new “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer & Friends” show – for May 2017, SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment already announced “The Wildlife DocsTM” to be a new live performance based on the equally named television show of ABC channel.
