USA: Creation of a New Music-Themed Madame Tussauds Wax Museum
The Simon Property Group – one of the world’s leading retail real estate companies – recently announced the opening of a new Madame Tussauds wax museum at its Opry Mills mall, located in Nashville/Tennessee. As the first Madame Tussauds to be opened at a mall and the 7th in the United States, the scheduled opening is dated to spring 2017. In relation to the “City of Music”, Madame Tussauds Nashville will be themed under the topic of “Soundtrack of America”. The world’s famous musicians from Nashville and the whole country – like Carrie Underwood, Stevie Wonder or Johnny Cash – should guide as their wax likeness through America’s history of music. Around 50 characters will take the visitors on this journey at the opening. The attraction for the whole family should provide guests with an interactive experience, where they will be able to see and touch their favorite musicians and take a picture with them. “The Mills is committed to providing the best shopping and entertainment experiences for its visitors,” said Gregg Goodman, President of The Mills. “Simon properties are multipurpose entertainment destinations, offering far more than shopping options to guests. Because of this, we know Opry Mills will be the perfect home to the very first in-mall Madame Tussauds location.” Butch Spyridon, President and CEO of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp., added: “One of the benefits of success is the ability to attract additional offerings. The arrival of Madame Tussauds further validates Nashville’s position as a major destination.” The attraction will be open for visitors 365 days a year. (eap)
