USA: David Bromilow is New President of AIMS International
The US association AIMS International, dedicated to improving amusement industry safety, has a new board president: David Bromilow has taken over the position effective April 1, 2022. Currently working for Mobaro as Global Director Parks and Attractions, the Brit brings more than 45 years of industry experience to the position. In addition to his involvement on the association’s board of directors, where he has served for the past three years already, Bromilow, a mechanical engineer, is a sought-after expert in the maintenance, safety and operation of amusement rides, and is also involved in several safety committees of different industry associations. Bromilow succeeds Tony Claassen (Silver Dollar City), who has served as the AIMS International board president since April 2020 and now remains on the board as past president.
“To be taking on the role as President from Tony is something I am immensely proud of. Tony has provided AIMS with great leadership over the past couple of years and considering all that has been thrown at us during this time we are stronger than ever. I hope to carry on with his great work and that of the outstanding board and leadership team we have at AIMS,” said Bromilow. “I look forward to working with MJ, the AIMS team, and the board over the next couple of years to ensure we continue to follow our mission at AIMS to being dedicated to continuing safety in the amusement industry.”
In addition, the association appointed Patrick Hoffman, president and owner of The Hofman Consulting Group, as vice president. Timo Klaus (KumbaK) will continue to serve as treasurer of the association. Hugo Loyola (Diversur Group, Fantasilandia – Happyland), Michelle Faulk (State of Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services – Bureau of Fair Rides Inspection) and Randall Wilke (Six Flags Corporation) now enrich the board of directors as well. The board elections took place during the association’s annual meeting in January. The next “AIMS Safety Seminar” will be held January 9-13, 2023, in Galveston, Texas. (eap)
