USA: Disney Cruise Line to Build Seventh Ship
As recently announced by Disney, Disney Cruise Line plans to launch a seventh ocean liner after two more ships, which will set sails in 2021 and 2023 (cp. EAP news from March 9th, 2016), had already been announced last year. Both cruise ships are currently under construction at Germany’s Meyer Werft shipyard, where the seventh one will also be built. It is scheduled to be finished in 2022 with a size of approx. 135,000 gross tons and around 1,250 guest staterooms. With regard to its environmental impact, the three new ships will be powered by clean-burning liquefied natural gas. Besides the new cruise liners, Disney’s fleet includes “Disney Magic” (1998), “Disney Wonder” (1999), “Disney Dream” (2011) and “Disney Fantasy” (2012). (eap)
