USA: Hersheypark Announces New “Wildcat’s Revenge” Hybrid Coaster for Summer 2023

Already now Hersheypark is creating some anticipation for its guests for the 2023 season: Starting next summer, the amusement park located in the US state of Pennsylvania will present “Wildcat’s Revenge”, a new hybrid coaster attraction that will be implemented in cooperation with Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC). The project will add the manufacturer’s patented “IBox” steel track to the existing “Wildcat” wooden coaster in the park’s “Midway America” themed area to make the ride experience longer and even more exciting.

“Based on our guest feedback, we knew coaster fans would love a hybrid at Hersheypark, and we’re thrilled to work with RMC on a custom wood and steel coaster with a nod to our history,” said Vikki Hultquist, General Manager of Attractions at Hersheypark. “Wildcat’s Revenge features the very best of RMC’s signature thrills, including four inversions with the World’s Largest Underflip, Inverted Stall, Zero-G Roll and Reversing Downhill Roll.” While the very first Wildcat wooden coaster operated at the park from 1923 to 1945, a GCI-built wooden coaster with the same name opened in 1996 and operated until July of this year, now being rebuilt.

Here are some quick facts about Wildcat’s Revenge: The three custom-built trains, accommodating 24 passengers each, reach the highest point of the 1,070-meter-long (3,510 feet) track at a height of 42.7 meters (140 feet). After climbing the lift hill, the trains hurtle down an 82-degree drop to reach a top speed of nearly 100 kilometers per hour (62 miles per hour) and rush through the total of four inversions as the track continues. To ride the 2:36-minute experience, guests must be at least 122cm (48 inches) tall.
