USA: Holiday World Announces Launch Water Coaster “Cheetah Chase“
The Holiday World theme park, located in the US state of Indiana, recently announced a launched water coaster for its related waterpark Splashin´ Safari for 2020. “Cheetah Chase”, a slide of the type “RocketBLAST” by Canadian supplier ProSlide, offers a total length of 520 meters (1,700 feet) on two tracks. With a maximum speed of 33 kilometers per hour (30 feet per second) visitors are able to race each other with up to three persons per raft on two slide tracks.
After leaving the station down a short hill, the rafts are launched through the power of water along a flat track and are then accelerated uphill. Subsequently, there are two FlyingSAUCER® elements and three more RocketBlast sections on each track – among others, with a height of over eight meters, the highest blast section ever produced by ProSlide. The manufacturer remarks: The elements generate “a faster and tighter ride with stronger g-forces” as well as “maximum curving speed and centrifugal force.”
For the new race slide a total investment volume of approximately seven million US dollars is intended.
Holiday World´s president Matt Eckert explains: “Cheetah Chase is the perfect thrill ride for families. The three-person rafts allow families to race face-to-face.” (eap)
