USA: IAAPA Attractions Expo 2018 Results
According to the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), this year’s IAAPA Attractions Expo, which took place last week from Nov 13th to 16th at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando/FL, closed with new record results, registering a total of 42,000 participants during the four-day trade show event (2017: 39,000), including 26,600 “qualified buyers”. With 1,151 exhibitors, the number of exhibiting companies was similar to the 2017 expo edition with some 1,114 companies. The trade show floor covered just under 55,780 square meters (2017: 53,500 square meters), including the new “Exploration Station” on the outdoor grounds of the convention center. The “IAAPA Celebrates” evening event, organized in line with the 100th anniversary of IAAPA at Universal Studios Florida, was visited by over 3,600 attendees.
“There is no better way to celebrate IAAPA’s centennial anniversary than with a remarkable and record-braking expo. IAAPA’s mission is to connect attractions professionals with each other and with new and innovative ideas. All that and much more happened here in Orlando. It’s been an incredible week!” stated Hal McEvoy, IAAPA President and CEO since October of this year (cf. EAP news f. Oct 9th, 2018).
