USA: New Cirque du Soleil Show to Premiere in Disney Springs in April 2020
The new “Drawn to Life” show production, created by Canada’s Cirque du Soleil in partnership with Walt Disney Animation Studios and Walt Disney Imagineering, will premiere on April 17th, 2020 at the Cirque du Soleil theater in Disney Springs (Lake Buena Vista, FL). Previews will start on March 20th.
The storyline of the new production, which succeeds Cirque du Soleil’s “La Nouba” show staged in Disney Springs from 1998 until the end of 2017 (cf. EAP News of 20 Dec 2017), follows the story of Julie, a courageous girl who discovers an unfinished animation piece. Guided by a surprising pencil, she embarks on an inspiring quest sprinkled with her Disney childhood memories. Through this journey, she learns to imagine new possibilities and animate the story of her future.
Iconic Disney characters and dazzling acrobatic performances by the Cirque du Soleil artists are set to enthuse the audiences. More than 65 performers from around the world are in the cast for the new show, which will be staged five days a week, each time welcoming up to 1,580 spectators. (eap)
