USA: New Cloud Coaster Open in Mississippi and California
Biloxis’ Margaritaville Resort in Mississippi recently opened a Cloud CoasterTM developed by Extreme Engineering, which offers a tandem ride to visitors. The innovative combination of zipline and coaster is the world’s first cart-less coaster featuring uphill and acceleration stretches (we reported on this in EAP, issue 3/2016). In this way, it differs from the “Rollercoaster Zipline” concept (cf. our special in EAP, issues 6/15 & 1/16). This ideal family attraction offers riders a combined experience of smooth turns, uphill racing and zipping around structures. A significant advantage of the coaster is its capability of being installed at almost any location: the trail at Margaritaville Resort leads through its in- and outdoor entertainment center and goes past waterslides, pools and arcade games. Another Cloud CoasterTM will open soon at the indoor trampoline facility Rockin’ Jump located at Dublin, California. In due time to Rockin’ Jump’s fifth anniversary this year the fast growing trampoline franchise is the first of its kind including a Cloud CoasterTM in its facility. (eap)
