USA: New Opening of Hershey’s Chocolate Tour

The visitor’s center Hershey’s Chocolate World Attraction in Pennsylvania invites visitors to join the new opening celebration of the dark ride Hershey’s Chocolate Tour, which has been reformed for the first time since its opening ten years ago. Equipped with the latest technology and new installations the attraction offers from now on an immersive and interactive experience for visitors of all ages. “Hershey’s Chocolate Tour is a fun and educational experience that has delighted families since 1973, and we look forward to commemorating this next special moment in its history,” said Suzanne Jones, Vice President at The Hershey Experience. “With the latest modernization, visitors will get a look into the magical, modern world of chocolate making like never before and learn how simple ingredients like milk, cocoa and sugar come together to create our delicious Hershey’s chocolate.” The family-friendly celebration attracts visitors with an entertainment program by the Hershey’s characters as well as with the chance to win special prizes. The first 500 people in line at the opening day will receive special commemorative Hershey’s Chocolate Tour gifts and chocolate bars.

During the tour, riders will meet the seven new cows at the fan-favorite barnyard scene, which transports visitors to the farms of Pennsylvania where Hershey sources milk for its products. More than 10,000 fans helped name the cows voting online for their favorites, inspired by the flavors found in chocolate: Mocha, Caramel, Strawbella, Blossom and Cocoa. One more cow will be named by fans and the final cow by employees of The Hershey Company, to be announced at the grand opening. Further reforms are to be found in the queue area immersing visitors into the cocoa farms of West Africa and the dairy farms of Pennsylvania. An enhanced technology of modern storytelling, projection mapping and holographic image effects has been integrated into the ride. Another highlight is the high-resolution interactive finale scene that integrates photos submitted by Hershey’s Chocolate World Attraction fans on social media. The company Granaroli Design and Entertainment has been responsible for the concept and media direction and development, realizing the plans together with several U.S. production companies. The ride control system and ride vehicles have been delivered by Ride and Show Engineering, the animated figures come from Garner Holt Productions. (eap)
