USA: New SoundWaves Outdoor Area Open Till End of September
After opening its three-level luxury indoor pool area for the SoundWaves waterpark in December 2018, the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Centre opened the corresponding outdoor waterpark facilities this past May, which are open until the end of September. On a ground area of 217,000 square feet (20,159 square metres) SoundWaves offers outdoor and indoor adult, kids and toddler pools and several play and climbing structures. The 90 million dollar project includes five indoor and six outdoor attractions, from easy like a lazy river or the outdoor “Tidal Track Wave Pool“ which alternates between waves and calm water, to thrilling slide adventures designed by The Aquatic Design Group like the “Beat Drop“ – a slide where the floor drops and riders plunge down a near-vertical tunnel to enter a looping water slide.
The Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convetion Center, which is being run by the Marriott International Inc., was originally opened in 1977 with 600 rooms. After a rebranding process in 2001 and corresponding extensions it has now 2,888 rooms, a large indoor garden area as well as the SoundWaves waterpark.
To get access to the pool facilities guests have to make a room reservation for an overnight stay at the resort or reserve one of the SoundWaves party rooms. (eap)
