USA: New Train Connection Planned for Direct Travel between Miami & Walt Disney World Resort
A Brightline rail project, which is already in the construction phase, foresees a direct express train connection between the Florida metropolises of Miami and Orlando. In addition to a station at Orlando International Airport (MCO), also the Walt Disney World Resort in Orange County is to get its own station as part of the long-distance rail network. In the long term, there are plans to extend the high-speed rail connection to Tampa on Florida’s west coast. Services from the Walt Disney World Resort station are scheduled to start in early 2023, when passengers will be able to travel the complete 380-kilometer route between Orlando and Miami by train within three hours (with further stops in West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale).
