USA: New VR Experience Features Weightless 4D Moon Mission
In cooperation with the NASA Johnson Space Centre, Samsung Electronics America has launched a new, innovative Virtual Reality (VR) experience in 4D quality, enabling guests to experience a virtual moon mission. “A Moon for all Mankind” is the title of the attraction located at Samsung 837 in New York City. For a fully immersive moon walk, the participant (with a minimum age of 13 years) enters a gravity rig to experience a stage of suspension during the virtual lunar mission. Secured with a harness and a helmet, the guest receives a smartphone-based Oculus VR Headset (model in use: Samsung Galaxy S9+) in order to start the virtual journey.
“At Samsung, we are driven to push the boundaries of innovation and inspire consumers to do what they can’t,” said Zach Overton, Vice President of Consumer Experience & General Manager of Samsung 837 and Galaxy Studios, the technology experience centres for the presentation of Samsung devices. “We are proud to bring to consumers the combination of our powerful mobile VR headset and our innovative work with NASA to launch this lunar experience and bring the sensation of walking on the moon to life,” he added.
