USA: Opening of Legoland California Resort’s Theme Hotel Ahead of Schedule

Legoland Carlifornia Resort in Carlsbad will open the nation’s first Legoland Theme Hotel on April 5, 2013. The three-storey building will feature 250 rooms immersing guests in the creative Lego worlds of pirates, adventurers or kingdoms. Guests can choose between themed or premium themed rooms while premium themed rooms have additional Lego models and décor such as themed wall paper. Around 3,422 Lego models, created out of more than three million Lego bricks, decorate the whole hotel. Seven of the large Lego models throughout the hotel are even animated such as the smoke-breathing dragon at the entrance of the hotel. A family pool and lounge area, a patio, event space, buffet restaurant and a fitness center round off the hotel offer. (eap)
