USA: SeaWorld® San Antonio to Build New Multi-Launch Coaster
As part of a comprehensive investment plan of some 175 million US dollars (approx. 156 million Euros) for the upcoming season, SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment recently announced the construction of a new multi-launch rollercoaster for its SeaWorld park in San Antonio, Texas.
“Wave Breaker: The Rescue Coaster” is the name of the new ride the theming of which is related to the world oceans and the protection and rescue of marine animals. The coaster’s vehicles resemble sportive jetskis – a novelty in North America – on which riders chase along the 792 meter long track, mostly above the water. Numerous curves and some launch sections create the thrill, in addition to airtime hills for the feeling of weightlessness. The highest point of the new attraction measures almost 19 meters.
Furthermore, “Wave Breaker: The Rescue Coaster” attracts attention to the work of the SeaWorld animal rescue team. In the waiting area guests will already dip in the topic and learn more about their exciting missions. The idea for the new ride is inspired by the “Sea Rescue” US television series on ABC. (eap)
