USA: SeaWorld Entertainment Announces Two New Partnerships
SeaWorld Entertainment’s President and CEO Joel Manby has recently given notice of the creation of two new partnerships, with Panasonic Enterprises Solution Company and Evans Hotel Group. Panasonic will become an official technology partner of SeaWorld. The key objective of the multi-year partnership is to use advanced technology to better connect park guests with animals and the company’s employees. In cooperation with Evans Hotel Group, SeaWorld intents to “explore the development of a resort hotel on Sea World’s leased land in San Diego”. SeaWorld currently looks for further opportunities and partners to develop hotel resorts in or near some of its parks.
Furthermore, Manby announced SeaWorld San Diego in California has initiated production on a new orca presentation, replacing the previous orca shows. In comparison to the existing shows, which are aimed at entertaining people, the new experience will focus more on informing guests by highlighting the species’ natural behavior. By introducing the new form of Orca presentation, SeaWorld San Diego reacts to increased criticism of their controversial Orca shows. The current Orca show “One Ocean” will run through 2016 before it will be replaced by the new presentation in 2017. Additionally, further attractions will be created, including a SeaWorld Rescue-themed roller coaster and seasonal events. (eap)
