USA: Tony Johnson Appointed New General Manager of Kings Dominion
Cedar Fair Entertainment Company has named industry veteran Tony Johnson (photo) new General Manager of its related Kings Dominion amusement park located in Virginia, effective immediately. Johnson, who has served in several positions of increasing responsibility at Cedar Fair parks throughout his career – including California’s Great America and Carowinds in North Carolina – has worked most recently as the company’s Corporate Vice President of Operations – in his role he was responsible to oversee the rides, water parks and security issues throughout the group’s eleven amusement parks. Furthermore, Johnson currently serves on the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) global security committee.
“Tony Johnson is a superb executive with deep experience and leadership skills. Kings Dominion has an exciting 2018 season ahead, with the opening of its new ‘Twisted Timbers’ hybrid rollercoaster next month [cf. EAP news from August 18th, 2017] as well as the introduction of the immersive holiday experience ‘WinterFest’ in November.
