USA: US Theme Park Visitors Want Interactive Maps
British Omnico company, a provider of cloud-based software solutions for the retail, destination and hospitality sectors, recently presented the results of a current survey conducted among US theme park visitors, saying that some 81 percent of the 774 surveyed participants want interactive maps for a convenient stay at the park. Also, 76 percent of the participants wish smartphone apps to give them updates, another 69 percent prefers to pay without cash.
The survey is part of the second “Omnico Theme Park Barometer”, which has been conducted among participants who have visited a theme park in the US in the last two years. The results: “US consumers want technology to make their theme park visits more enjoyable, saving them time and tying the whole experience together. Expectations are rising and visitors want operators to provide technology that helps remove the frustrations so their families can enjoy an entirely snag-free visit,” said Mel Taylor, CEO, Omnico Group.
According to the survey results, other customer demands include real-time advice about weather conditions (69 percent) and the opportunity to make ride or restaurant bookings via a park phone or tablet app (67 percent). More than three quarters of US respondents (77 percent) said they would spend more on merchandise if they could have it delivered to their hotel room or home rather than carry it around. (eap)
