USA: iFLY Opens Dual Wind Tunnel at I-Drive Orlando
America’s iFLY company today opens its newest flying facility at Orlando’s I-Drive, on the site of the former Hawaiian Rumble Adventure Golf. The new attraction is the first iFLY center featuring two wind tunnels, according to the company. The center, which is located between WonderWorks and ICEBAR Orlando, substitutes Orlando’s former iFLY center at Universal Boulevard, which was opened in 1999 and hosted only one wind tunnel. In its years of operation it welcomed more than one million visitors, according to iFLY.
Supervised by experienced instructors, guests can try out the experience of flying with their own body, professionals train acrobatic stunts in the wind tunnels, which measure approx. 3.7 meters (12 feet) in diameter each. Both tunnels were built by iFLY’s own SkyVenture manufacturing company. The new building covers an area of some 3,048 square meters (10,000 square feet) and includes several meeting and party facilities as well. To date, iFLY operates 37 centers worldwide. (eap)
