USA/Asia: Legacy Entertainment Announces Design & Construction Phases of 16 Major Projects in Asian Territories
The Hollywood/California-based design studio Legacy Entertainment recently announced that it is currently working on a total of 16 major projects in the Asian region, which are either in the design or already in the construction phase. “With six projects under-construction, and another ten in various stages of design, we are happy to announce that Legacy has continued to hold onto its place as Asia’s leading entertainment design firm for yet another fantastic year,” says Taylor Jeffs, Legacy’s President & Chief Creative Officer. The projects are spread over four countries in Asia and include theme parks of international standards as well as new shopping destinations. In Vietnam alone, where the new Sea Shell Aquarium, also designed by Legacy, opened this spring as part of the Vin Wonders theme park, the creative experts are currently responsible for the development of five new destinations. “Much like our work in Indonesia, our projects in Vietnam often require creative solutions by which our clients can offer their guests world-class experiences where the spending power of the consumer might be less than in more-developed tourism markets. Very often, these budget-conscious experiences can meet or exceed their world-class counterparts, located elsewhere around the world,” comments Barry Kemper, Legacy’s Chief Operating Officer.
In the wake of the successful launch of the new Lotte World park in Busan, South Korea, Legacy Entertainment has been commissioned to develop new dark ride and parade concepts for the flagship park of the Lotte World group in Seoul. In addition to these Lotte World group developments, the design company has been brought on board for another comprehensive entertainment project in South Korea, which is scheduled to be realised by the end of 2024. Marcus King, Chief Projects Officer at Legacy, says, “While we cannot give specifics at this moment about the major new South Korean project we are now actively designing, our upcoming work there has no benchmark. Our team has taken on the great creative challenge of pioneering something completely new – something that is guaranteed to shock and amaze audiences all around the globe.”
The Californian company is realising further projects in China and Indonesia. While in China two major projects – one based on a renowned car brand and another on a successful video game – are in the pipeline and work continues on design concepts for the “Enlight” theme park of the film production company Beijing Enlight Media, Legacy is involved in the conceptual development of the planned city PIK 2 near Jakarta in Indonesia.
“The secret behind Legacy’s rapid growth and enduring success is simpler than one might think. We don’t simply design ‘things or environments’. We design and deliver ‘ideas’. The alchemy of our dreamers and designers cannot be duplicated! We are continually humbled and thrilled that the uniqueness of our products have been – and remain – recognized and valued by the dozens of the world’s top developers and biggest entertainment brands,” concludes Legacy’s Managing Director, Eric Carnagey.
