USA/Philippines: Falcon’s Creative Group to Master Plan the First Phase of Enchanted Kingdom’s Expansion
Yesterday, US-based Falcon’s Creative Group announced that the company with headquarters in Orlando will master plan the first phase of expansion of the Philippines’ Enchanted Kingdom amusement park, which had already announced extensive expansion plans in 2015 (c.f. EAP news from November 17th, 2015).
After its planned expansion, the park will cover some 30 hectares (75 acres) in total. The new area will feature the rich culture and history of the Philippines as well as the scenic beauty of its more than 7,000 belonging islands. Also, the expansion includes a water element feature and a new zone for Enchanted Kingdom’s own intellectual properties, among others. These areas will have a variety of proprietary rides and attractions as well as entertainment elements that are still to be determined.
The popular amusement park, which is located in the city of Santa Rosa and records approx. 1.8 million visitors per year, follows with its expansion plans the recent upswing of the Southeast-Asian leisure market. “After two decades of firmly establishing the ‘Enchanted Kingdom’ brand in the Philippine market, we are very well-positioned to take advantage of our country’s growing tourist arrivals and widen our market demographics. We see Falcon’s President and Chief Creative Officer Cecil D. Magpuri, who has strong local roots to our home country, and his team playing a key role in turning our vision and future plans into reality,” remarked Mario O. Mamon, Chairman of Enchanted Kingdom and 2014 IAAPA Chairman.
In addition to expanding the footprint of its theme park, Enchanted Kingdom also has plans to develop the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Convention & Events) market with hotels and a regional convention center, retail, dining, entertainment and a world-class waterpark facility. (eap)
