Unique Sound Project for Tropical Sauna at Thermen & Badewelt Sinsheim
(eap) A unique sound project is currently being developed for the tropical sauna at Germany’s Thermen & Badewelt Sinsheim (part of Thermengruppe Josef Wund). The aim is to redefine wellness environments through sound as a connection between body, nature and technology, says Franz Hofstetter, CIO of the corporation. In partnership with the consultancy Polytope and the innovation specialists from WhiteMirror, dynamic soundscapes are currently being developed that are based, among other things, on an audio composition generated using artificial intelligence (AI) that works with the movements and sounds of tropical birds. A 360-degree sound system with a total of 20 loudspeakers (from d&b Audiotechnik) will provide constantly changing soundscapes in the tropical sauna at Sinsheim. Ambisonic technology will also be used to transform natural rhythms into multi-sensory, meditative experiences. Sound sessions – sonic meditations – are also planned as an additional option for guests seeking wellness and relaxation.
Thermengruppe Josef Wund is creative in its use of new technologies and aims to play a pioneering role in the thermal spa and wellness landscape with innovative experiences. This year, for example, the group realized an extraordinary project at its related Therme Euskirchen, where the new “Immersive Sky” invites to enjoy a digital forest bathing session (read our article in EAP 3/2024). For this project, the company recently received the prestigious “Professional Award” from the European Waterpark Association (EWA), among numerous other recognitions (c.f. EAP News of 11 Sept 2024).
