Universal Parks & Resorts Rebrands to Become Universal Destinations & Experiences

Universal Parks & Resorts, a unit of Comcast NBCUniversal, is becoming Universal Destinations & Experiences to better reflect the full breadth of innovative offerings Universal aims at bringing to theme park guests and consumers around the globe. With the name change the company wants to signal its strategy to further diversify by bringing Universal-branded entertainment, culinary, gaming and consumer product experiences to life for new audiences, in new places and on new platforms in both the physical and virtual worlds.

“Universal Destinations & Experiences aligns with our aspiration to be the Destination of Choice in the markets where we are today and the markets we enter in the future. We are thrilled to expand how we bring the Universal brand to life in new, immersive and compelling ways for fans around the world using our rich collection of stories, characters and franchises,” said Mark Woodbury, Chairman and CEO of Universal Destinations & Experiences.

The company is not only expanding with the new Epic Universe theme park in Orlando/Florida and the recently opened “Super Nintendo World” theme area at Universal Studios Hollywood – as announced earlier this year, new Universal destinations are also being developed in the entertainment metropolis Las Vegas/Nevada as well as in the US state of Texas, namely a horror attraction open all year round as well as a theme park which is to appeal in particular to families with young children (we reported in our EAP News).
