Vortex International to Partner Once More with Chinese Wanda Group
Canadian company Vortex International, known for its comprehensive portfolio of aquatic play elements, recently announced to be again partnering with China’s Wanda Group. The manufacturer has been commissioned to deliver a large interactive water play structure for the waterpark component of the operator group’s 10.7 billion US dollar Chongqing Wanda Cultural Tourism City project which is expected to commence operation in 2020. It’s already the second time that Vortex is working for Wanda, the first time was in the scope of the Wanda Xishuangbanna International Resort (cp. EAP 3/16), opened at the end of 2015 and for which the Canadian company had delivered the largest Vortex Splashpad® built to date in terms of area.
The company has been actively expanding in the Chinese market. Only recently Vortex President and CEO Stephen Hamelin and members of the management team joined a Quebec delegation that accompanied Quebec Premier Philippe Couillard on an economic mission to China, which was instrumental in the signing of the new agreement. „We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the Wanda Group once again. This project will help Vortex consolidate ist position as a key player in the entertainment field and expand ist reach in the family-oriented aquatic play industry,“ says Hamelin. (eap)
