WILDLANDS Adventure Zoo Names Julius Minnaar New Director
After almost five years at the helm of the WILDLANDS Adventure Zoo in Emmen, the Netherlands, which opened in 2016 (see also EAP 4/2016), interim director Erik van Engelen is leaving the company in June. The supervisory board has now appointed Julius Minnaar (53) as his successor, who will take up his new post in June and from then on will act as director of the animal and adventure park and the directly adjacent ATLAS Theater. Minnaar previously held management positions at media companies such as IPG Mediabrands and Dentsu, and in the public sector at Ster and TROS.
Speaking on behalf of the Supervisory Board, chairman Henk Jan Meijer said, “We are delighted with the appointment of Julius and see him as a worthy successor to current director Erik van Engelen. He has the right personality and a good track record in leading companies and I am confident that his experience is the right one for both WILDLANDS and ATLAS Theatre.”
Julius Minnaar on his new position: “My love of animals and the outdoors was instilled in me from a young age and I have been following WILDLANDS for quite some time. I’m super excited to move into the next phase with this wonderful park and my new colleagues. It’s an honorable position and I’m eager to achieve continued growth for both of these companies. [...].”
To ensure a smooth handover, Erik van Engelen will remain in place until mid-June. (eap)
