(eap) The Belgian theme park Walibi Belgium, which is operated by the French Compagnie des Alpes, has officially announced a new themed area called “Dock World”. The area will take up two styles in its theming: on the one hand that of an industrial port and on the other that of a fishing village. The highlight of the new area will be a Multi Launch Family Coaster from German manufacturer Gerstlauer Amusement Rides, which will take the place of the former boat ride attraction “Gold River Adventure” (Intamin). The new coaster will reach a top speed of 65 km/h over a total track length of 900 meters and include 14 airtime moments.

In addition, the two existing attractions “Flash-Back” (a log flume from Mack Rides), and “Psyké Underground” (an indoor roller coaster of the Shuttle Loop type from Schwarzkopf), will be re-themed and a new restaurant, two kiosks and some shops are being built. A total of around 30 to 35 million euros will be invested in “Dock World”. The new themed area is set to open next year to coincide with Walibi Belgium’s 50th anniversary.

Until then, visitors can experience the park’s other diverse attractions such as the Sidecar XL “Silverton” from Technical Park, which opened last year, or the mega coaster “Kondaa” (EAP 3/2021) from Intamin. Furthermore, guests can enjoy the “Surf Bay” expansion at the associated Aqualibi water park, which opened at the end of last year. There, guests can discover four new water slides from ProSlide (see our article in EAP 2/2024). ■
