Water Country Celebrates 40th Anniversary
Water Country, the water park operated by Palace Entertainment in Portsmouth New Hampshire, New England, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. The park offers its guests 18 water attractions, two of which are getting an upgrade in the form of iSlide effects in due time for the start of the season on 3 June. The “Black Whole” and “Warp Eight” slides will become “Hyperlight”. An immersive experience will be created with new lights and sound. In addition, other water slides will receive a new coat of paint and the park’s entrance area will be redesigned.
“Water Country has been a staple for every New Englander’s summer since opening its gates in 1984,” said General Manager Matt Hehl. “40 looks great on us, and we can’t wait to welcome guests back this season as we celebrate four decades of fun with an all-new look and feel that will capture guests’ attention as soon as they enter the park.”
Not only the Water Country and Noah’s Ark Waterpark, but also the Wet ‘n Wild Emerald Pointe waterpark in Greensboro, North Carolina, which is also operated by Palace Entertainment, is getting a slide makeover. The former “Serpentine Slides” (“Blue Streak”, “Slidewinder” and “The 360º”) will operate under the new name of “Bermuda Triangle” in the future. All three slides will be equipped with iSlide effects such as colour-changing and glittering lights as well as music to create an immersive slide experience here as well. In addition to the two new “Bombs Away” slides that opened in 2022, guests can look forward to the redesigned slides for the start of the 2023 summer season on 20 May.
