Wavre/Belgium: New Speed Slide Opened at Aqualibi
After the Aqualibi indoor waterpark in Belgium had closed its doors due to annual maintenance work in January, visitors were surprised when the park reopened on January 24 with a brand new water slide attraction. As the name suggests, “Flash” is a speed slide with free-fall element. Starting at a height of 7.5 meters, the 28 meter long waterslide features a 45-degree drop as well as a transparent slide section which allows other guests to observe riders within the slide. Riders, who have to be 1.20 meters tall at least, can reach speeds up to 50 km/h. The total investment for the new slide supplied by the Dutch manufacturer Van Egdom amounts to 300,000 euros. Including “Flash”, Aqualibi now offers seven different water slide experiences. (eap)
