Wiegand: Alpine-Coaster in Vorarlberg / Austria opened
The success story of Wiegand's "Alpine Coaster" continues: After a construction period of just three months, the 2,600-metre long, all-weather themed ride was opened at the beginning of September in a town between Latschau and Vandans. A maximum speed of 40 km/h, one 360-degree curve, fifteen 180-degree bends and numerous jumps will ensure plenty of thrills. During the eight-minute long ride, passengers will be swept along a 350-metre difference in height. The roughly three-million-euro expensive system is to serve as an additional impulse for the existing mountain railway. Wiegand's longest Alpine Coaster is located at Andorra's "Naturlandia". The ride was opened in the Pyrenees in November 2007, measures 3,600 metres and conquers a 400-metre difference in height. (eap)
