(eap) Safaripark Beekse Bergen and the associated Speelland, located near Tilburg in the Netherlands, are offering its visitors two highlights this winter: In addition to the second edition of the “Light Safari”, the indoor play area “Speelland Indoor” is also set to open soon.

The indoor area with a tropical theme is scheduled to open for overnight guests on 21 December, and all guests will be able to enjoy the new facility from 6 January. There will be various age-appropriate zones for children aged 0 to 14 as well as a restaurant with a view of the play areas. The new indoor area is located in a newly built, 8.5-meter-high, 2,000-square-meter-large hall that can accommodate up to 600 visitors at a time. With solar panels and a heat pump, the building is designed to meet future-oriented sustainability standards. Managing Director Rens Willemsen explains: “After an adventurous safari, it’s wonderful to end the day on the beach. We have transferred this feeling to the Speelland Indoor.”

Through March 9, visitors to Safaripark Beekse Bergen can also experience the second edition of the Light Safari. Last year, some 185,000 guests enjoyed the illuminated atmosphere in the park, which will show even more figures this time. This winter, under the motto “a magical journey around the world”, visitors will embark on a two-kilometre walk along a path dotted with LED light sculptures – there will be animals and cultures from all over the world to discover, from the savannahs of Africa to the Italian vineyards of Tuscany...

“After months of preparation, we can finally take our visitors on this magical journey around the world. The light safari is even more spectacular and atmospheric than last year. The winter square will provide extra cosiness with a roller-skating rink, delicious winter snacks and other activities. There will also be an educational scavenger hunt during which children can collect stamps in a light safari passport,” highlights Willemsen. ■
